Keep The Noise Out With Soundproofyourhome

As the population in the UK continues to rise the space in which people have to live and work is getting smaller and smaller. Living in close proximity to other people means that we have to be much more considerate about how much noise we are making. Being labelled as a noisy neighbour can lead to major fallouts and extreme cases can involve visits from the local police force. At Soundproof your home we try to make sure that situations like this never arise by providing homeowners with the necessary soundproofing products.

If you live in an apartment you will know only too well how noisy they can be. Having people live above and below you, not to mention at either…

Sush! Noise Action Week Is Coming

Did you know that next Monday marks the start of Noise Action Week? Noise Action Week aims to raise awareness of the growing problem of noise, something which affects people at home, work or during their leisure time. The initiative hopes to encourage neighbours to communicate with each other and highlight any noise-related issues they may have so that an appropriate resolution can be found.

Several of the country’s local councils will be taking part and paying a visit to establishments to give advice and offer noise assessments to help highlight the negative effects of excess noise, whilst others will be writing to e.g. pubs, clubs to offer solutions to the noise problems they face.

As the UK population has got bigger, noise has become…

Soundproof Your Garage And Keep Friendly With The Neighbours

Millions of UK homeowners are lucky enough to own a home fully equipped with a garage, but how many of us actually properly utilise them? Many of us prefer to use the garage as a storage area, a place to put the lawnmower, strimmer, recycle bins, old clothes, you name it! This prevents the home from becoming cluttered.

But it seems a shame to fill a garage with such belongings when you could just as easily convert it into an extra bedroom or use it as an area for practicing any musical instruments you might play.

If you are struggling for space in your home and are looking to convert or start some band practice then you need to consider soundproofing before you…

Student Complains About Noisy Pub

The Canterbury Times has reported that a 60-year-old student at the University of Kent has put in a complaint to her local authority about the noise generated at a nearby pub. She claims that noise from The Maidens Head pub in Canterbury is making it difficult for her to study as she strives to complete a creative writing course.

Virginia Lloyd Owen has called for the local council to revoke the licence of the pub, but although they at one stage agreed that noise levels were too high, her authority say that the pub has recently changed hands and so far the new licensees have adhered to necessary sound regulations.

They have instead recommended that Miss Lloyd Owen, the owners of the pub and the…

Prevent Excess Noise From Forcing You Out

Noise between neighbouring homes in certain parts of the country continues to be a severe problem and one of the main causes of disputes. Many homes in Britain are closely built together so it is not hard to see why noise easily travels from one place to another. In certain cases, noise levels reach a point where a homeowner feels the need to either take things into their own hands or move.

But things should never come to this as there is always a solution to the problem. Speaking to the neighbour concerned is a good place to start. Address your concerns with them in a friendly and non-aggressive manner and more often than not it will result in a compromise being found.

If this…

Do Not Let Excess Noise Drive You To Extreme Measures!

We all know how excess noise can sometimes drive us to the edge of despair but you should never allow it to get to you so much that you resort to threatening neighbours with a gun! The Daily Mail reports that a woman in Florida, incensed by the noise caused at a party next door, stormed round to the house armed with a rifle which she said she would fire if the music was not turned down.

Luckily, police turned up at the scene and seized the gun and charged the woman with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. This is of course is an extreme case and a one-off incident, only in America, but it does demonstrate just how annoying…
